Surface area and scaling up
Some interactive activities can involve reasoning. For example, in the digital learning object L2315 Measures: scaling surface area students compare the surface area of rectangular prisms as they are enlarged or reduced.
The online resource has adequate instructions for an individual task. The activity could be enhanced by displaying a list of Some W Question Starters and asking the students work in pairs. One student does the activity but at every screen, the other student asks a W question before the first student continues.
