SiMERR-AAMT Project
The AAMT received funding from the Science, ICT and Mathematics Education for Rural and Regional Australia (SiMERR) initiative to conduct projects to improve services to non-metropolitan members. Queensland, NSW and Victoria were involved from 2006, and projects in WA, NT, SA and Tasmania commenced in the following year.
The projects engaged regional and remote teachers in good quality mathematics professional learning with a view to building sustainable connections into the future. Across the project several interesting models emerged that enable city-based associations to better service the professional learning needs of country teachers. A brief report on the project is available.
